Weekly Announcements - 04/17/21-04/18/21
- To all the men in our Church, please consider joining the Knights of Columbus! Our mission is to empower Catholic men to live their faith at home, in the parish, at work, and in the community, building a bridge back to faith. We will have a registration/information booth available before and after all Masses next weekend, 4/24 & 4/25/2021. Knights will be available to talk with you and to help you with the registration process for all who are interested. Together we can be connected and serve our parishioners here at St. Polycarp.
- We received five essays for the Essay Contest on the life of St. Joseph. Here they are: Matthew Dinh, Evenly Shiraziford, Isabelle Tran, Natalie Shiraziford and Azul Vasquez. The winner will be announced on the Feast of St. Joseph/Crowning of Mary's Mass, Friday, 4/30/2021 at 7 pm. Thank you for your participation and best wishes to all the contestants.
- REMINDER - Group leaders: Room schedule reservation requests for 2021/2022 are now available and both agreement and the room schedule must be submitted to the Parish Office on or before April 30, 2021. Contact the office if your group did not receive the notification and request this packet to complete.
Days of Indulgence for the year of Saint Joseph
To reaffirm the universality of Saint Joseph’s patronage over the Church, the Apostolic Penitentiary kindly bestows during the Year of Saint Joseph, through this Decree issued according to Pope Francis’ wish, the Plenary Indulgence to the faithful who shall recite any prayer legitimately approved or act of piety in honor of Saint Joseph, especially on the occasions of March 19th and May 1st , on the Feast of the Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph, on the Sunday of Saint Joseph (according to the Byzantine tradition), on the 19th of every month and every Wednesday, the day dedicated to the Saint’s memory, according to the Latin tradition.
Días de Indulgencia para el año de San José
Con el fin de reafirmar la universalidad del patrocinio de la Iglesia por parte de San José, la Penitenciaría Apostólica concede una indulgencia plenaria a los fieles que recen cualquier oración o acto de piedad legítimamente aprobado en honor de San José, especialmente el 19 de marzo y el 1 de mayo, fiesta de la Sagrada Familia de Jesús, María y José, el domingo de San José (según la tradición bizantina), el 19 de cada mes y cada miércoles, día dedicado a la memoria del Santo según la tradición latina.
