St. Polycarp Catholic Church is committed to providing a safe environment for all that come here. The safety of our children is especially important to us. Each volunteer that works with children are required to be fingerprinted and trained in helping maintaining and providing a safe environment for children every 3 years.
Steps to Volunteering with Children at St. Polycarp
1. GET FINGERPRINTED
Fingerprinting is done through LiveScan. Please complete the Application form and return it to a Safe Environment Staff Member. Once received we will complete the LiveScan form for you to pickup and take to a LiveScan location. There is a fee that these locations charge (prices vary). 2. SAFETY TRAINING COURSE Take the free online safety training course. Visit https://orange.cmgconnect.org, create an account. When you register select “Safe Environment Training" under the "I participate as a/an:" section. You can also find this option under "Edit Profile." Then proceed to take the “Safe Environment Basic Safety Training” course. Once completed, please print, or email, your certificate of completion to the Safe Environment Staff Member. |
FAQ
I have already been fingerprinted by my local public school/work,/police department/FBI, do I need to be fingerprinted again? Yes, you need to be fingerprinted again. It isn't lawful for agencies to share information, so St. Polycarp and the Diocese of Orange, have no access to prior fingerprinting that you may have done.
I was fingerprinted at another Catholic Church/School, do I need to be fingerprinted again? It is possible, if you were fingerprinted at another Catholic School or Church, in the Diocese of Orange, that you do not need to be fingerprinted again to volunteer, at the church. Contact the Safe Environment Coordinator to see if your situation applies.
